I have been thinking of making a pet blog, but I'm not sure if I have the time to maintain it. I'm also not sure if anyone would actually read it :P

Momma Told Me - awesome giveaways!

I haven't posted in quite some time, but I wanted to write about some awesome giveaways that are on one of my favorite blogs - Momma Told Me!

1. Sleepypod Atom Giveaway - ends 3/7/12
This is a modern-looking, lovely pet carrier for small pets! Being a crazy cat lady, I could definitely use one of these. I have 3 cats, and my smallest one (a 7-lb. Himalayan) would definitely be a great candidate for this carrier.

2. $25 Kroger GC Giveaway
This GC is good at any of the Kroger chain stores, which includes Food4Less and Ralphs, both of which are found in my area. Free groceries? Yes please!

The winner of this one gets to pick up two awesome items! How awesome! Of the two, the Flirty Apron would definitely be my favorite prize, though. The cupcake apron is absolutely darling.

This giveaway also includes a recipe on how to candy bacon. My sweetheart loves bacon, so I'll likely end up using the recipe sooner than later :)

Giant isopod

Today I went to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA. To my delight, they had a giant marine isopod on display! I don't remember it being there last time I visited. In the picture below, it's standing on a crab (lol)


This was a relatively small specimen, under 12". Apparently they can get much larger than that! They are very strange creatures indeed, which is undoubtedly why I've taken an interest in them.

Gloomy Saturday

I'm a bit sad. The other day I purchased 5 fire red cherry shrimp to add to my 25 gallon fish tank. The tank is fully cycled and all water parameters tested normal, but the shrimp are not doing well and seem to be dying. Also, my zebra danios have been bullying them. Damn rambunctious danios :/

I also saw Breaking Dawn: Part 1 today. I found it rather depressing to be honest. Like many Twilight fans, I'm anxiously awaiting Part 2.
